AROUND the RYOGOKU BRIDGE in EDO

The great Hiroshige described the Ryōgoku Bridge in the 19th century as "the liveliest place in the Eastern Capital, with side-shows, theaters, story-tellers, and summer fireworks; day and night, the amusements never cease.“

Hopefully, these prints should convince you he was quite right!
